What's new at Green River?

October 9, 2008 - Hello from Green River! All of us here in Rhode Island (and our newest store in Portsmouth, N.H.) hope that everyone had a great summer full of cookouts, the beach and lazy days. Now, I know it's WAY to early to think about the holidays yet but we at Green River are already preparing for another busy season. Let me give you a quick run down on what's here now and what's coming in over the next few weeks. First, new Ruth Doron is here direct from Israel. Her bracelets, necklaces and earrings (available in all stores now) are unique, handcrafted and affordable. And they ALWAYS sell out. We placed an order with our best silversmith in Bali the other day and hope to have his jewelry in by early next month. He makes all of the beautiful cut stone (garnets, peridot, amethyst) earrings that always sell out each December. They are so affordable that they make perfect stocking stuffers or gifts for co-workers (they'll think you spent a lot more then you did!!) And of course, John is off to Mexico in two weeks for his annual holiday buy. All of us at Green River look forward to him coming back from Taxco because this is where he finds all of the beautiful unique pieces that we have become known for. From dramatic silver cuffs to tiny stud earrings, this is where he finds it. It should all be out in the stores by early November for those of you who like to start your shopping early. For our online customers (as well as our store ones) we will be offering a handmade, sterling snowflake charm bracelet ($29.00) with matching earrings ($9.00) this year. They will be available early November. We ordered a lot this year as this will be a popular item but it WILL be a sell out so if you want them don't wait to the last minute!
