CURATOR'S STATEMENT

My vision for Gallery 297 and Congress Street Gallery is one where established and emerging artists exhibit together in an exciting eclectic mix of styles and techniques. I try to maintain a balance and flow throughout each space…both inviting and visually interesting. Technical expertise paired with the artist’s own individual style - these two elements are the key factors in my selection for the galleries. I am constantly on the lookout for art with the “it” factor - art that elicits a personal response. This gut response can be anything from wonder to perplexity to enjoyment. I just simply love art and surrounding myself with it. I hope you will check often to view both gallery spaces in person as well on line. Exhibits will be changing every six weeks.
